Memorial Day- A Day to Remember
One of America’s most beloved holidays is right around the corner! With so many ways to celebrate, it can be hard to decide what to do with your 3-day weekend! First, make sure to remember the reason behind the holiday: honoring those who sacrificed their lives while in active military service. Help line the sidewalks of Historic Green Street in nearby Gainesville for the annual Memorial Day Parade and get the chance to feel like a kid again! Another local favorite is to get out and set up camp at one of our local campgrounds! Old Federal, Van Pugh and Shoal Creek are all located right on the shore of Lake Lanier and have beautiful sweeping views. If you look south after the sun sets the spectacular fireworks show hosted by Lake Lanier Islands will come into view. Stay camped out, float down by boat or drive, but this is not something to miss! Get out and make the most of the weekend!
